Musicology Music Club
Your curated vinyl guide to the sounds of the Pacific Northwest
The Musicology Music Club is the only vinyl subscription service focusing on Pacific Northwest artists.
We’ve partnered with award-winning music blog Guerrilla Candy and boutique label Latent Print Records to offer subscribers records from some of the top talent from the PNW spanning genres and decades each month. As part of the club subscribers get:
- One record from either a PNW artist you know and love, a hidden PNW gem or a PNW act on the rise
- Exclusive Listening Notes that help tell the story of the artist and album
- Bonuses such as invite-only listening parties, additional records, stickers and more
For December 2025 we chose the doule-LP compilation Live at the Crocodile: Back to Belltown.
Why we chose Live at the Crocodile: Back to Belltown
Seattle’s music scene has always thrived in the margins—on photocopied flyers, late-night radio spins, and sweaty club shows where the amps buzz louder than the neon. We try to keep that DIY spirit alive with the Musicology Music Club by focusing exclusively on artists from the Pacific Northwest.
That’s why we are especially excited and proud to offer this month’s selection to subscribers: Live at the Crocodile: Back to Belltown. The double-vinyl release celebrates the history of famed Seattle institution The Crocodile Café while also highlighting PNW artists past and present that made the Seattle music community such a unique and diverse scene during the mid-2000s.
Music Club Plans for 2026
Starting January 2026, we’ll be diving deeper into the past, present, and future of the PNW music scene, bringing you iconic albums, rising stars, and hidden gems that define our region’s sonic legacy.
Here’s what’s coming up:
January 2026 (past) – Nirvana’s Bleach: The raw debut that lit the fuse for a musical revolution.
February 2026(present) – Death Cab for Cutie’s Asphalt Meadows: A modern masterpiece from one of the PNW’s most beloved bands.
March 2026 (future) – Coral Grief’s The Air Between Us: An excellent document of a band on the rise.
Why we chose Nirvana's Bleach
What better way to begin our celebration of the past, present and future of Pacific Northwest music than with Nirvana’s Bleach? Bleach is a landmark album not just in PNW music history, but in music history in general. Famously recorded for $606.17, the album introduced the world to Nirvana and to say the world wasn’t the same since then isn’t pure hyperbole.
This two-LP version of Bleach is considered one of the definitive documents of a band on the rise. It is the 20th anniversary deluxe edition, which includes a remastered audio from the original master tapes, a second LP featuring a full 1990 Nirvana concert and a 16-page booklet.

Got questions? We've got answers!
Can I skip a month?
Yes. If you would like to skip a month, you can cancel your subscription at any time and when you’re ready for more PNW tunes simply subscribe again.
What if I already own a ROTM?
First, if you already own one of our Records of the Month then congratulations, you’ve got great taste! Second, if this happens you can bring the record to Musicology and exchange it for store credit. This can only be done in store with a sealed, unopened ROTM and all extras, if any, that were included in the monthly package.
What artists has the club featured in the past?
We’ve featured a variety of artists across genres in an effort to reflect the breadth of talent in the PNW. Past featured artists include indie-pop singer SYML, post-grunge punks The Gits, Portland Americana act Glitterfox, the folksy pop of The Head and the Heart, hard-driving rockers Suzzallo and others.
What are the bonuses?
We like to include bonus items each month as a way of saying thank you for being a part of the club. In the past bonuses have included additional LPs, 45s and stickers.
How are the records chosen?
Our partners at taste-making, award-winning PNW music blog Guerrilla Candy and PNW record label Latent Print Records select the monthly records.
What's Guerrilla Candy?
Founded in 2009 by music journalist Travis Hay, Guerrilla Candy was established as an extension of the popular Ear Candy music column and blog from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Guerrilla Candy has won multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for its music coverage and is dedicated to providing quality coverage of Seattle's vibrant music scene, including news, reviews, interviews, and commentary on PNW music.
Who is Latent Print Records?
Latent Print Records is a Seattle-based independent record label that specializes in reissuing and releasing music on vinyl, with a focus on PNW artists. Operated by former talent buyer for famed Seattle clubs The Crocodile Cafe and Chop Suey, Pete Greenberg, the label aims to celebrate the rich musical history of the region by pressing new editions of long-out-of-print local classics and, in some cases, resurrecting entirely lost recordings.
When will my record ship?
We try our best to ship out records around the 15th of each month. However, since we are a small business, that date may flex a little. If a record is a new release and its street date is near the end of the month, we won't ship until the street date. So please be patient while waiting for your record of the month.
I don't want my record shipped. Can I pick it up at the store instead?
Yes. You are always welcome to drop by Musicology Co to pick up your Record of the Month package.
